Health to Wealth, a series produced by Purposeful Podcasts, has won Gold in this year’s Lovie Awards, in the ‘Best Podcast’ and ‘Health and Wellness’ categories.
Health to Wealth was curated by the leading hospitality group Accor in partnership with Well Intelligence. It’s the podcast that looks at your own personal health, alongside the bigger trends that shape our lives. The series covers everything from technology to nutrition and neuroscience; your personal data, tackling climate change and bringing it all back to the breath with the Iceman himself, Wim Hof.
The annual Lovie Awards, recognizes online excellence across a number of different categories. Each year a panel of industry experts and technology innovators from The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences evaluate hundreds of websites, videos, apps, podcasts as well as social, web3, mobile & voice, NFTs & metaverse content from over 30 European countries to find the best of the best.
The result? A prestigious list honouring online excellence in Europe.
Health to Wealth has been hugely successful since its launch in May this year, garnering over 30,000 subscribers and over 100,000 plays.
It’s also now an award-winning podcast.
Why is it important to put your podcast in for awards?
When you’re considering commissioning a podcast, it’s worth thinking about the impact that winning an award might bring to your brand. It’s hugely effective marketing.
For example, another prestigious award – the British Podcast Awards – has a significant media reach, with 239 pieces of coverage around the awards, with a reach of 145.2 million. The social media coverage reach is around 21 million. If you do win, it’s definitely worth the entry fee to have the chance of that kind of coverage!
It’s only the big guys who win though – right?
You don’t have to be a large media brand to achieve award success. Small, independent podcasts can be right up there with some of the biggest names in podcasting. What’s most important to the judges is the quality of the content and your engagement with your listeners, and the community you build around that. You aren’t judged on the number of listeners you have – in fact if you’re completely new to podcasting, that can be taken into consideration too.
What can applying for awards bring to your brand?
Applying for awards means you strive for excellence. It’s a great way to help you focus on what’s most important – your audience and how you connect with them. This can help you in every stage of the development of your podcast – from coming up with the original idea, to uploading the finished product. Keeping your audience at the heart of everything you do is key.
If you win, it’s fantastic for your brand and great for employee morale too. Who doesn’t want to be recognised for their hard work? Remember when Gwendolyn Christie put herself up for an Emmy, for her role in Game of Thrones, because HBO had decided she didn’t make the cut? Then she won! It really is a vote of confidence to your employees if you champion them in this way, even if you don’t bring home the silverware on the day.
Awards set you apart from your competitors and publicly announce your commitment to quality. Especially if you’re a young and upcoming company – it’s a great way to get noticed.
Plus – if you get nominated, you get to go to a party – and how doesn’t love a little celebration every now and then?!
